About Me

Let me introduce myself, since childhood I loved books and decided when I grow up,
I want to make books for people, not as an author but as a designer.

Crop N’ Bleed is the name of my personal website that I showcased my previous work when I was full-time, and recently when I become a freelancer. The emblem is a combination of the N (and) + ن (Nūn) stands for the 25th letter in Arabic, we pronounce it Nūn. Using the Arabic letter in the emblem, I wanted to tell the public that I know the Arabic language spoken, written, and creatively for graphic work.

My name is Amal Charif. I loved books and drawing since childhood. I was reading everything under my hand. The more I read, the more I became fascinated by books and their world. I always wanted to be a bookmaker, not as a writer but as a designer. In my childhood, I did not know what this profession was until I got to know the ads (publicité) in the French reading lesson in the fifth grade of primary school. Then I realized what I wanted to be when I grew up, a “creative designer.” I survived the civil war in Lebanon by reading and drawing.

I have 15+ years of extensive experience in the graphic design industry (full time – freelance). Specialized in print design and print production, corporate identity, layout and custom artwork, and templates development in English, French and Arabic, promotional tools, editorials, brochures, and more. Visionary thinker, highly skilled in the creation and execution of complex and innovative idea development of printed media, web elements, and animated infographics for marketing strategies and campaigns, and social media existence. Solutions-oriented, results-oriented, and problem solver with skills of management of diverse groups of people. I worked in different countries.

Besides my work as a graphic designer, I devote a lot of my time to spreading awareness and advocating issues related to people with disabilities, having been diagnosed with polio since the age of one year and three months. I was fortunate to learn, work, and achieve my ambition to become a graphic designer, while many people with disabilities were denied education, work, and dream. In 2018, I founded an association working to develop solutions using modern technology for inclusive communities.
